We found this book on the clearance shelves at a Hastings bookstore in Arizona. We hope we will find more because both of us loved reading it. It is a quiet, relatively undramatic police procedural set in Norway and excellently translated from the Norwegian, in which the police detective begins with a death which might or might not have been suicide. As more information is revealed, the possibilities of which might have happened change and become more strange. There is a certain inevitability to the solution, and it all makes sense.
