     Edward Henry Avery was born on 18 August 1824 at Columbus, Chenango County, New York.¹ He was the son of Charles Eldridge Avery and Asenath Chedell.¹ Edward Henry Avery married Susan Sophia Taylor on 5 May 1852 at Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.¹
