     William Shuit Newcomb was born on 5 July 1822 at Rome, Ashtabula County, Ohio.¹ He was the son of Thomas Newcomb and Clara Lockwood Shuit.²

     Anna Newton was born circa 1760 at Westfield, Province of Massachusetts Bay.¹ She and Ephraim Warfield obtained a marriage license in September 1781 at Blandford, Hampden County, Massachusetts.² Anna Newton married Ephraim Warfield, son of Samuel Warfield and Deliverance Watkins, on 29 November 1781 at Blandford, Hampden County, Massachusetts.³
